Smoked Salmon and Prawn Cocktail
We love to put our own spin on the classics and this recipe is a perfect example. It’s nothing too crazy, we simply add our smoked salmon to a classic prawn cocktail but what a difference it make! You can serve it as a simple salad or it’s delicious with a crusty baguette.
- 315g Falls of Dochart Smokehouse cold smoked salmon (roughly slices into medium chunks)
- 250g cooked small prawns
- 2 small baby gem lettuce (roughly torn)
- Juice of half a lemon
- 4 tbspn mayonnaise
- 4 tbspn crème fraîche
- 1 and half tbpsn tomato ketchup
- Dash of tobasco sauce
- Dash of worcestershire sauce
- Cayenne pepper
Add the smoked salmon, prawns and lemon juice to a medium size mixing bowl. Add a sprinkling of cayenne pepper and mix well.
In a separate bowl mix together the mayonnaise, crème fraîche, tomato ketchup, tobasco sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well until all the ingredients are well combined.
Add the lettuce and watercress to each serving bowl/dish. Then top with the salmon and prawns. Spoon a few tablespoons of the marie rose sauce on top and serve!
